Terroir
Chateau Chanson's vineyards sit at about 1,175 m in the Helan Mountain East foothills, on gravelly alluvial soil. The continental climate gives plentiful sunshine and a wide day–night range, ripening the fruit fully while keeping fresh acidity.

Winemaking
Selected old-vine Syrah from the estate vineyards, aged 36 months.

High Cru Tasting Notes
Bright ruby. Ripe prune, dried apricot, clove and dark chocolate. A strong, powerful body with firm tannin and bright acidity in balance with the sweetness; a fairly long finish that closes slightly bitter, with a little sweetness. The grape's own heavy bitterness is lifted by the port's sweetness, which adds concentration.
