The birthplace of Chinese Marselan — French cuttings planted here in 2001 launched what became China's "national red grape."

Terroir
Planted on the estate's own vineyards in Donghuayuan, Huailai, cradled by spurs of the Yan and Taihang mountains, with the Guanting Reservoir creating a "lake between two mountains" microclimate that extends ripening. Sandy-gravel alluvial soil drains well; ample sun and wide diurnal swings.

Winemaking
Domaine Franco-Chinois first introduced Marselan cuttings from France in 2001 and released China's first single-varietal Marselan in 2004. Hand-harvested and sorted, temperature-controlled fermentation with gentle extraction to protect Marselan's naturally soft tannin; roughly 30-40% new oak, aged 12+ months for elegant toasted notes without masking the fruit.

High Cru Tasting Notes
Deep purple-red, with blackberry, mulberry and violet aromatics alongside fine spice and cedar. Elegant structure, fine soft tannin, fresh acidity, a long finish with a touch of cocoa.
