Terroir
Benzilan Town, Deqin, Yunnan. Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah are grown in Yeri Village at an elevation of around 2,400m; the Syrah plot is tiny — only around 180 vines on roughly 0.6 mu (about 400m²).

High Cru Tasting Notes
Decanted for 30 minutes, showing a hazy medium ruby colour. The nose carries hints of game, toast, faint green notes, herbs, blackberry, black plum, pepper and spice, with concentrated fruit. Medium-high acidity on the palate, a saline, mineral edge, and tight, very fine-grained tannins. Herbal notes, concentrated black fruit and a sour-plum edge, bright acidity, clear structure and a viscous texture, with spice carrying through to a long finish alongside blueberry and woody notes. Precise fruit ripeness and restrained oak keep the wine natural and vivid. Blue fruit — blueberry, wild strawberry — dark fruit, and a touch of florality. Plenty of spice, black and white pepper, a cooling hint of mint. Medium-plus body, high acidity, firm structure — vivid and fresh overall.
